Lamentatio is a silend reflection on loss and that which remains. The music moves in a world of memory, in which fragile lines and warm timbres alternate and reinforce each other. From a subdued beginning, a musical tension unfolds in which soloistic, free moments contrast with carried tutti passages. Time sometimes seems to stand still, only to start moving again. In a grandioso, the work reaches a hopeful turning point, in which the sound opens up and the perspective shifts. Without great drama, the music results in a feeling of resignation: a silent form of comfort for everything that remains.
