The Netherlands has a long and leading tradition of wind music. Almost every village has one or more wind bands that often perform at a high level. The composer was inspired by successful and famous Dutch wind music composers when writing this work. The result is a playable, accessible, and fresh piece of music with a recognizable main theme, which is presented in various stylistic ways and atmospheres.
